Do you need God’s help in any area of your life? Are emotional, physical, and spiritual flood waters rising out of control? Is God interested in your needs?
Have you tried to solve those needs by yourself? How is that working out for you?
Is there any time in our lives when we aren’t facing some kind of need? My husband and I have experienced our share of them in the last few years, and we’ve prayed for so many others with specific needs. And God’s answers have assured us that He listens; He cares; and He provides!
When I finally realized that God was not only interested in my needs, but that He also wanted to hear about them—AND meet them, I experienced a deep-down peace I couldn’t explain.
If you recognize a need for God’s help in any area of your life, may I offer the following prayer for you?
A Prayer for Those Who Need God’s Help
Lord, you have told us in Your Word that as Your children, we could approach your “throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16, NIV). And Lord, we admit that we are always in time of need. But that’s a good thing, because how would we know You could meet that need if we didn’t admit our problem/challenge and come to You for help?
I pray for those who need Your help, knowing You have promised, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NIV).
Because You are our Faithful God and Father, I come to You today and ask for Your help. So many need Your intervention, God!
Prayer for Those Who Need God’s Help with Physical Challenges
I pray for those who are suffering from sickness, pain, chronic physical issues, and even terminal illness. As our Jehovah-Rapha, the God Who Heals, please send Your Word, apply Your touch, ease the pain, and grant Your healing. Help those who need Your strength to find their hope in You. May they “soar on wings like eagles,” “run and not grow weary,” and “walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31 NIV). Help them to come to You and find rest for their journeys (Matthew 11:28).
May Your perfect will be accomplished in everyone who cries out to You for help. Grant bold faith mixed with humble submission to all who call on You, their Great Physician. Comfort those who desperately need Your loving touch, and give patience to those who are willing to wait on You.
Prayer for Those Who Need God’s Help with Emotional Stability
Lord, hear the cries of those in emotional and mental anguish. Calm anxious hearts and free worry-filled lives. Speak peace to the raging storms that threaten to override stability.
Dry every tear of despair and grief. Birth new hope in You as the One who cares for us so much. Fill those who are empty with outrageous joy. Lead and guide those who need Your wisdom and direction. Help them keep their eyes on You alone, and not on their own inadequacy.
In Jesus’ name, protect them from the enemy’s darts, and cancel his plans so that nothing formed against them will prevail ( (Isaiah 54:17).
Prayer for Those Who Need God’s Help with Spiritual Issues
Father, where questions persist and misunderstanding resists Your help, affirm Your love and care. Doubts may arise, but assure each child of God who seeks You that You will never leave them or abandon them in their time of need (Hebrews 13:5). Fill their hearts with sweet trust and the decision to leave all their cares with You—even when they don’t know what Your answer will be or when it will come (Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:7).
If unforgiveness, bitterness, or rebellion tries to tempt them away from Your promises, show them the way back to Your faithful heart. Thank You that Your Word says that when we pray about everything and tell You our needs, remembering to thank You for Your answers, we will experience Your peace “far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.” Your peace will keep our thoughts and our hearts quiet and at rest as we trust in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
Lord, thank You that You never change and that You are forever, completely faithful (Psalm 146:6).
Prayer for Those Who Need to Know God Personally
Finally, Lord, if there are those who don’t really know You personally as their heavenly Father and have never given their hearts to You, may Your Holy Spirit draw them close to You and convince them of their most important need of all: receiving Your gift of love, forgiveness, and grace through the death, burial, and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus, who died for them. Your love is unbelievable!
Thank You for meeting every need in Your time and in Your way.
Day-votedly Yours,
Rebecca
A Personal Reminder for You
I never tire of telling others about God’s great faithfulness.
Whatever you do, remember this: God is faithful not because He may answer our prayers favorably, or because He works things out eventually. He is faithful in His actions because He is faithful to His very name (s)—just because of who He is.
And that need in your life? Could it be a reminder that God is our Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider? (Genesis 22:14). Could it be an invitation to experience His faithfulness in a new and greater way? Is it possible that your need is an opportunity to draw near to Him once again, day by day, moment by moment?
You will never know how faithful God is until you experience Him for yourself.
