Can you ever thank mothers adequately for their timeless work and love? Though words never suffice, here is one poem I wrote to express my thanks to God for mothers.
Thank God for Mothers…
who sacrifice their time for our happiness,
and give us the freedom to be ourselves,
even when we disagree.
Thank God for Mothers…
who make home a place called love,
who desire the bond of togetherness,
even in the midst of confusion .
Thank God for Mothers…
who never give up on us,
who willingly believe in us,
and who faithfully stand by our side.
Thank God for Mothers…
who patiently try to understand us,
and consistently overlook our faults
with tenderness and love.
Thank God for Mothers…
who don’t expect perfection,
from us or themselves,
and who lead us to the only One who is…
perfect.
Thank God for Mothers.

My Personal Prayer for You
Lord Jesus, it’s impossible to say thank You enough for mothers and what they mean to us. Many of us are moms or grandmoms ourselves, and we now understand what we couldn’t possibly know when we were young and often foolish. Bless mothers today with the grace of Your presence, and the honor they deserve for their tireless work and love. Fill them with Your peace and mercy. Grant forgiveness for mistakes, for we all make them. But let love cover all our memories with a blanket of compassion and joy. Show them how they are making a difference just by loving their child unconditionally. Reward each mom with Your faithful blessing and encourage her today and every day. Thank You, God, for our mothers.
Day-votedly Yours,
Rebecca
It’s Your Turn
What quality about your mom influenced you most? How can you thank your mother, not just on Mother’s Day, but throughout the year? Most of us are parents before we truly realize the impact our moms had on us. Even if you had a severely dysfunctional home, find something you can be thankful for regarding your mom. And don’t forget to pray for her. If you still need a Mother’s Day gift idea, your mom or grandmom might enjoy my devotional books for women.
